Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - Matt Cassel threw for 234 yards and also rushed for a score as New England bested Buffalo, 20-10, at Gillette Stadium.
Cassel completed 23-of-34 passes for the Patriots (6-3), who have won three of four. Along with the Jets' 47-3 thrashing of St. Louis, New York and New England are tied atop the AFC East with the clubs slated to meet on Thursday at Gillette.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis added 105 yards and a TD on 26 carries while Wes Welker led all receivers with 10 receptions for 107 yards.
Trent Edwards hit on only 13-of-23 passes for 120 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the Bills (5-4), who have dropped three straight games and four of five.
James Hardy picked up 21 yards receiving on a pair of catches, but one was for Buffalo's lone trip into the end zone.
