Raiders release CB Hall

Alameda, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders released cornerback DeAngelo Hall on Wednesday, just eight games into a seven-year contract worth up to $70 million.
Hall has collected $8 million of that money and would be owed $16.5 million in injury-guaranteed bonuses for next season. The Raiders chose to take that money out of the equation by waiving him.
As part of the off-season deal with the Atlanta Falcons, Oakland traded away a second-round draft choice for the fifth-year pro out of Virginia Tech.
Hall amassed 48 tackles and a half sack with a team-high three interceptions over eight contests with the Raiders this season. Over his five-plus seasons in the league, the 24-year-old has 20 interceptions, two returned for scores, and 277 tackles.
The Raiders also placed linebacker Robert Thomas on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
