East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Brett Favre's 15-yard touchdown pass to Laveranues Coles with 1:00 minute to play carried the New York Jets to a 28-24 come-from-behind win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Favre completed 28-of-40 passes for 290 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions for the Jets (4-3), who have won three of their last four games. Leon Washington caught a touchdown pass and ran for a score, while Jerricho Cotchery led all Jets receivers with 102 yards on nine grabs.
With quarterbacks Brodie Croyle (knee) and Damon Huard (thumb) both done for the season, Tyler Thigpen made only his second career start for Kansas City (1-6), which has lost three straight. The Coastal Carolina product turned in a stellar performance, completing 25-of-36 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Dwayne Bowe had six receptions for 102 yards, while Tony Gonzalez added 79 yards on six balls and a score.
Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers had two interceptions and returned one 91 yards for a touchdown.
The Kansas City rushing attack was completely irrelevant minus the services of Larry Johnson, who was benched for a second consecutive week after an off- field incident.
