VS.      49ers_icon_medium

Date: October 19, 2008 Location: East Rutherford, N.J.
Time: 1 p.m. EST
Stadium: Giants Stadium
TV: FOX
Radio: WFAN (660 AM)
Final Score: Giants 29, 49ers 17

Coming off their first loss of the season our New York Giants host San Francisco today. Let's hope they are angry, and let's hope they take out their frustrations on the 49ers.

Some pressure on San Franciso quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan would be nice, as would turnover-free football from Eli Manning.

This is your Open Thread. As always, keep your browser open to the comments to follow along 'live-blog' style.

Here's a video preview from NFL.com to whet your appetite.

Go Giants!

Time: 8:30 p.m. EST

Final Score: Browns 35, Giants 14

Amidst all the Tony Gonzalez talk, let's not forget the Giants have a huge game tonight agains the Cleveland Browns.

With the losses by Dallas and Washington this weekend the Giants could take a big step forward in the NFC East race with a win tonight. Let's not forget, the last 11 games of the schedule are brutal so the Giants can't let any of these 'should win' games slip away.

Here is your Open Thread for tonight's Giants-Browns Monday Night Football matchup. Enjoy the game!

Time: 1 p.m. EST
Stadium: Giants Stadium
TV: CBS
Radio: WFAN (660 AM)
Final Score: Giants 26, Bengals 23 (OT)

Here is your Open Thread for today's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. I will be in and out today, and will probably have to DVR the second half.

I don't know about you guys, but I am extremely nervous about this game. All the respect the Giants seem to be getting lately, the under-achieving Bengals being in town and the Giants history of making things harder on themselves than they have to be are part of that.

I hope I'm wrong. Remember, leave your browser open to the comments to follow along 'live blog' style.

Enjoy the game!

Here is your Open Thread for today's New York Giants-St. Louis Rams matchup.

As always, keep your browser open to the 'comments' section to follow along 'live-blog' style throughout the game.

I won't be moderating today. I will be out on the soccer field watching my 12-year-old play (and, yes, sneaking peaks at the game on my hand-held TV). Our man 'jrs' will be moderating, thanks to his brand-spanking new laptop -- paid for with all that blood and sweat he has given to the site in recent months.

Anyway, keep the comments coming during the game. I doubt we will reach the 255 we had on opening night, but triple-digits would be nice.

I will, of course, DVR the game and have 'Kudos & Wet Willies' Monday morning.

Enjoy! Go Big Blue!

You won't see much of the regulars tonight. In fact, many of them probably won't play at all. There are a few things worth paying attention to, though.

  • The backup QB battle. Will Eli Manning's backup be David Carr or Anthony Wright? This is the last chance for both veterans to make an impression.
  • Can Josh Huston win the kicking job? At this point there is no word on when, or if, Lawrence Tynes will be back this season. Huston, wo almost won the job last season, has missed a pair of 42-yard field goals subbing for Tynes. His kickoffs have been excellent, but any more misses and the Giants will be looking at some of the veteran kickers who will be available.
  • Can Danny Ware unseat Reuben Droughns? Ware has been impressive in the backfield and running back kickoffs. Droughns has barely played the last two games. If the Giants think Ware is the reincarnation of Ryan Grant, Droughns' NFL career might be at an end.
  • Defensive tackle battle. We know Barry Cofield, Fred Robbins and Jay Alford are solid. But, there are a host of players vying for the fourth defensive tackle slot. I am interested to see if any of the young backups steps forward tonight.
