Official "Things-you-can't-spell-without-Eli" Comedy Thread

A few months ago, one reporter (clownpants) asked Eli whether he thought he was an elite quarterback. In typical honest fashion, Eli said he believed he was playing on that same elite level as great quarterbacks such as Tom Brady. Now that Peyton's goofy younger brother just beat Boston's Golden Boy in ANOTHER spectacular superbowl, it is safe to say that you most certainly cannot spell "elite" without Eli.

In the spirit of curiosity, I started wondering what else you can't spell without Eli.

Knowing that there was no chance that I would go in a dictionary and take this on seriously and that we have some witty people on this site, I thought it could be fun to get you all involved because well...this is essentially what we do on gamedays anyway, and those threads always end up hilarious.

And for Tebow's sake, after this season someone had to do it...

OK, I'll start things off with some obvious examples:

"Elite"

"Believe"

For the sake of variety, let's say letter order does not matter.

GIF's and Pictures count and would be awesome.

Have at it fellow Giants fans!

Brandon Jacobs Playing For Rex Ryan? Nah!

Brandon Jacobs of the New York Giants answers questions from the press during a media availability session for Super Bowl XLVI at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott on February 2, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Photo by Scott Halleran/Getty Images)

Are you buying what Brandon Jacobs is selling? That he likes "the way Rex [Ryan] handles his business' and that he would apparently be willing to play for the New York Jets if his Giants career is over?

Maybe Jacobs is sincere, but I doubt it. Maybe he just got carried away with it being Valentine's Day and all. In reality, I think this is just Jacobs making nice in the event the Giants send him to the NFL unemployment line next month.

Jacobs is due a $500,000 roster bonus next month. If the Giants pay it they will be on the hook for Jacobs $4.4 million 2012 salary. Sorry, but the Giants aren't paying $4.9 million for a backup running back with questionable knees and, at times, a questionable attitude.

I can't see Jacobs, who had an on-field confrontation with Ryan after the Giants Christmas Eve victory, playing for Ryan. Bigger question, though, is whether the Giants want him back. If so, at what cost?

What would you do if you were the GM, Giants fans? Move on without him? Try to get him to take another pay cut?

2012 NFL Draft Prospect Profiles: Mark Barron, S, Alabama

Alabama defensive back Mark Barron (4) reacts during an NCAA college football game against Arkansas at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Alabama's not-so-chatty All-America safety might have been a first-round NFL draft pick after his junior season but for a torn pectoral muscle(AP Photo/The Tuscaloosa News, Robert Sutton)

The last time the New York Giants won the Super Bowl they entered the NFL Draft the following April in need of an upgrade at the safety position, and with one logical target. That player, Kenny Phillips, ended up being available and the Giants happily snapped him up.

This year, as the 2012 NFL Draft approaches, safety could again be on the team's list of positions it would like to shore up. Which brings us to the subject of today's 2012 NFL Draft Prospect Profile -- Alabama safety Mark Barron.

We know defensive coordinator Perry Fewell and the Giants have had great success the past two seasons with the three-safety alignment. One of those three safeties, Deon Grant, is a veteran who is nearing the end of the line. His lack of speed was exposed at times in 2011, and right now it seems unlikely he would return. Tyler Sash was drafted in the sixth round a year ago, but speed is also an issue for him. He seems destined to be a special teams player. Chad Jones? A wonderful story and you have to root for him. Certainly, though, you can't plan on him being a viable player. Anything he ever contributes on the field is purely a bonus at this point.

New York Giants News And Notes: Brandon Jacobs, Wrestler

Good morning, New York Giants fans! Let's see what is making news this morning.

Brandon Jacobs steps in to fill Jason Pierre-Paul’s wrestling boots | ProFootballTalk
After Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul declined an invitation to participate in a pro wrestling show, teammate Brandon Jacobs decided to take his place. Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that Jacobs will step into the ring Monday night during a TNA Wrestling taping. SB Nation's 'Cageside Seats' has more thoughts on Jacobs entering the wrestling ring.

My only thought about Jacobs and his TNA appearance is, 'don't do something stupid and get hurt.'

Speaking of Jacobs, and probably more important to the Giants, the veteran running back has again said he would like to stay with the team. He appears willing to take less than the $4.9 million the team would owe him under current contract to do so.

"Nothing has been discussed yet. However, it is coming," Jacobs said. "I want to keep my family [in New York]. I love my teammates and my coaches. It’s a great organization."

State of the Union - The End.

Yessir, its that time again. Had a SOTU at the beginning of the year (which you can find right here, and again, midseason (which you can find right here. Only makes sense to get one at the end. I'll also refer to some fanposts that I wrote as the season wore on, as a sort of look back to this season.

This is a long post, because it contains a lot of my thoughts and emotions regarding this season, so its just a disclaimer, I guess. And I have a lot of thoughts and emotions towards the season, ha.

Here we go.
