Here is your overview of the Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. This, as you should be aware, is a huge game for the Giants in terms of what they need to accomplish the rest of the regular season.
Giants vs. Redskins: Breaking down the matchups - SB Nation New York
The Basic Stuff
Game: Giants (7-4) at Redskins (5-6)
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
TV: ESPN
Radio: Giants Radio Network (WFAN 660-AM)
Line: Giants -3
The Key Players
Giants
1. Eli Manning -- The Giants are likely going to have to outscore the Redskins in a shootout-type game to win this one, and to do that Manning will have to be at his best. Fortunately, Manning's slump appears to be over and we know these types of games and situations are ones that he thrives in.
2. Kenny Phillips -- Will he play or won't he play? Phillips is listed as doubtful after aggravating his knee injury last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. He did, however, reportedly make the trip to Landover, Md. with the team. The Giants could use Phillips' help in trying to dissect and defend the Washington offense.
3. David Wilson -- This should be Wilson's first full opportunity to make an impact on offense. If he does something good with it that will be a huge plus for the Giants. If he goes all Bryce Brown (the Eagles' rookie) and fumbles away a game he will be right back in Tom Coughlin's doghouse.
Redskins
1. Robert Griffin III -- The guy is an amazing talent. Will the Giants have a better plan for defending RGIII and the Redskins this time around? They certainly need to do something other than depend on the Redskins to screw up, which seemed to be the plan the last time.
2. Alfred Morris -- The rookie running back has 982 yards already this season, including 120 the first time the Redskins and Giants met. Washington's ability to run the ball sets up much of what they do with play-action passing. Morris will be coming straight ahead, and the Giants need to win the battle at the line of scrimmage and force RGIII and the Redskins to be one-dimensional.
3. DeAngelo Hall -- I put him here only because the Giants really, really need to shut him up.

Storylines
It's all about the playoff picture. We keep saying it, but the Giants can take complete control of the NFC East with a victory. They would be three games ahead of Washington and two games ahead of the Dallas Cowboys with four games to play. A loss, and the Giants would lead both teams by one game and would be facing a brutal schedule over the final month of the season.

Quotable
"We already knew going in what type of talent he [RGIII] was, what type of quarterback he was, but he just demonstrated that further for us and he proved it in real time the type of athlete and more importantly the type of quarterback that he is. He's an outstanding quarterback, first, and so we've got our work cut out for us. He did a lot of good things against us and hopefully we'll be able to rectify that when we play them on Monday."
