The Star-Ledger-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

New York Giants' safety Kenny Phillips left Sunday's game with a knee injury. The team is awaiting MRI results.

Kenny Phillips' knee injury is certain to be a primary topic of conversation when New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin meets with the media later on Monday to discuss his thoughts the day after a touch 19-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Phillips, who left early in the game after injuring the knee while being juked by Eagles' running back LeSean McCoy, is having an MRI today.

"I don't know what it is about that spot, but we certainly are having a difficult time being able to stay together and stay whole," Tom Coughlin said Sunday night. "I'm sorry that Kenny went down. Hopefully we'll find out that it's something he can come back relatively soon from. But I don't know that for a fact."

Safety Tyler Sash, suspended by the league for four games for unapproved use of Adderall, is due to be reinstated this week. If Phillips is out for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, or longer, Sash will be returning just in time.
