Who knew that Ahmad Bradshaw's fumble on his very first carry of the day would be the beginning of the best individual day of his career? Brashaw ended up carrying 30 times for 200 yards, both career highs, as the New York Giants defeated the Cleveland Browns, 41-27, Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
The fumble, which occurred when Bradshaw bumped into guard Chris Snee, set up a Cleveland touchdown and the winless Browns (now 0-5) stunned the Giants by jumping to a 14-0 lead in the first five minutes.
At that point this looked like one of those stunning, befuddling days when the defending Super Bowl Giants played down to the level of their competition.
The Giants' offense, with lots of help from Stevie Brown (interception, fumble recovery) was having none of it, though. The Giants totalled 502 yards in offense. In addition to Bradshaw's big day, here are some other numbers.
- Manning was 25-of-37 for 259 yards and three touchdowms.
- Rueben Randle caught six passes for 82 yards.
- Victor Cruz had five catches, three for touchdowns.
- Domenik Hixon had five catches for 55 yards.
