Two more members of the New York Giants will be heading to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii this week. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and placekicker Josh Brown have been added to the Pro Bowl roster. They join wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and quarterback Eli Manning.
Rodgers-Cromartie replaces New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler. Brown replaces Patriots' kicker Stephen Gostkowski.
Rodgers-Cromartie will be the first Giants cornerback to play in the Pro Bowl since Mark Haynes made the last of his three consecutive trips in 1984 (Reyna Thompson was selected as a special teams player in 1990). Brown is the first Pro Bowl Giants kicker chosen since John Carney in 2008.
Rodgers-Cromartie started 15 games, had three interceptions and a team-high 13 passes defensed. He scored two defensive touchdowns, one on an interception return and one on a fumble return. This is DRC's second Pro Bowl appearance, his first coming in 2010 with the Arizona Cardinals.
Brown is appearing in the Pro Bowl for the first time in his 13-year career. Brown made 30 of 32 field goal attempts in 2015, a franchise-record 93.8 percent success rate. He broke his own mark of 92.3, set in 2014. In three seasons with the Giants, Brown has hit 77 of 84 field-goal tries, a team-record 91.7 percentage (minimum 50 attempts). He made all three of attempts from beyond 50 yards last season.
The 2016 Pro Bowl will be played in Honolulu's Aloha Stadium on Sunday, and televised on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET.
