Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are some headlines to keep an eye on for your Wednesday morning.
Sean Payton a possible TC replacement?
With Giants head coach Tom Coughlin up in the air, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton could be a name to watch if New York decides to pull the plug with Coughlin. Payton coached with the Giants from 1999-2002 and was the offensive coordinator on the 2000 Super Bowl squad. In 2009, he won the Super Bowl with the Saints. However, New Orleans has struggled the past few seasons, and Bountygate -- for which Payton was suspended -- sheds a bad light on his reputation.
He’s very close to Bill Parcells. Payton won the Super Bowl with the Saints in 2009 and is considered a state-of-the-art offensive coach. He has two years at $8 million per year left on his deal, just finished building a house in New Orleans and recently said, "I see myself coaching this team long past this season," although that will change if the Saints don’t want him back. The Dolphins and Colts could be interested. The Saints surely will be looking for compensation.

Well I tried to tell you before the game Saturday that the game meant much more to Chip then anything. Philly is about playoff wins. Fired

#Eagles did not tell the players that Chip has been fired. One just found out when I reached out to him for comment. "Damn. For real?"

Chip Kelly had virtually no allies at the NovaCare and then lost Jeffrey Lurie. Was tolerated when he won. Endeared himself to no one.

In my convo w Chip he said next stop he just wants to coach & insists he does NOT want to be the personnel guy too. This is significant

Among the things DeMarco Murray told owner Jeffrey Lurie weeks ago was that he had no confidence in Chip Kelly as head coach, I'm told.
