New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese met the media on Thursday in his annual pre-draft press conference. As usual, the GM rolled out the cliches and didn't say much.
Here are some of the Reese remarks I tweeted during the presser.
Reese on picking ninth: "The higher you pick the better the player should be."

Another Reese cliche: "Whoever the best player is at nine, we're gonna pick."

Another Reese standard on trading: "We'll keep all our options open." Jerry is sticking to the script. #nyg

Reese says anyone you draft at 9 plays a premium position and should be expected to play quickly.

Reese says "you wouldn't have anybody to draft" if you tossed out every college kid who has made a mistake. #nyg

There it is. "There's good players at every position every year." A Jerry Reese standard quote.

Reese rolling out the oldies. "We just look for good players."

Reese indicates the Giants will use Josh Gordy as a safety. "That's where he plays," Reese says.

Reese said Giants thought Shane Vereen would be "a nice piece" and that Dwayne Harris a "four or five-tool player."

Reese says Odell Beckham "didn't say a word about his hamstring" when he saw him earlier today.

I will update this later once I have had a chance to transcribe all of Reese's remarks. For now, here's your glimpse of Reese talking without really talking.
