Let's cut right to the chase when it comes to figuring out which offensive linemen will be on the New York Giants 53-man roster this season. With all of the injuries the Giants have suffered this position is a mess, and it is virtually impossible to figure out which guys will be on the roster when the season begins.
Starting guard Geoff Schwartz will be on the roster, but he is out for a few weeks with his dislocated toe. His return date is unknown. Charles Brown (shoulder), James Brewer (back) and Brandon Mosley (back) won't play Thursday night vs. the New England Patriots. Truth is, we don't know how severe any of their injuries are and whether or not those players could lose roster spots because of them.
We know the starting group Thursday will include Will Beatty, Weston Richburg, J.D. Walton, John Jerry and Justin Pugh. Add Schwartz and that is six guys we know make the team. Mosley, if healthy, could still end up as the starting right guard. He manned that position the entire preseason. Provided his back injury is not a long-term one, he will at least make the team.
After that it's anybody's guess, and this is another area where the Giants might look to the waiver wire for a healthy veteran backup.
Prediction (9): Beatty, Pugh, Richburg, Walton, Mosley, Jerry, Schwartz, Brown, Rogers Gaines. Purely a guess here that the Giants drop at least one of the injured guys. In this scenario, that is Brewer.
