Let's continue our series of player-by-player profiles of the New York Giants 90-man roster by looking at offensive lineman DeMarcus Love, formerly of both the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars.
2013 Season In Review
Love, a member of the Vikings at the beginning of the season, served a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. He was then released by the Vikings and spent most of the season on Jacksonville's practice squad. He was activated briefly, but did not play.
2014 Season Outlook
The Jaguars released the 6-foot-4, 315-pound Love last month, and he was awarded to the Giants on waivers. Love was sixth-round pick by Minnesota (168th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was inactive for all 16 games. He spent the 2012 season on injured reserve with a pectoral injury. Despite being in the league for three years he has never appeared in a regular-season game.
Love is one of several backup tackles with at least some NFL background that that the Giants have brought in. Unless there are a rash of injuries, he figures to have a difficult time making the roster.
