If this is the kind of stuff that was going on outside of the marijuana use, I'm not surprised that the Giants parted ways with Hill. It also makes more sense that he would fly through waivers without interest from any of the Safety needy franchises.
At first I wasn't a fan of the organization cutting someone as talented as Will Hill over a marijuana suspension - but if he shows this kind of lack of respect for a friend's property, who is to say what kind of influence he is in the locker room? Maybe, despite what his friends on the team say, he was creating issues that the coaches just didn't want to deal with.
I have a feeling we will see more stories like this going forward. In any event, maybe it's best to let the front office do it's work and trust that they have the team's best interest at heart. I certainly don't want the Giants to enable a guy who destroys a friend's rental property to the tune of 15K and then refuses to pay up.
