Odell Beckham Jr. told reporters Thursday night that he will have to return home to get more clothes before taking up permanent residence in New Jersey. Otherwise, though, the newest member of the New York Giants said being selected 12th overall by the Giants in the 2014 NFL Draft put him in a "perfect situation."
"I definitely think that I can come in and if I get the opportunity to play I can bring a lot of things -- a deep threat, or whatever the team would need me to do," Beckham said. "Hopefully I get to return some punts and kicks."
Beckham called Rueben Randle, a former teammate at LSU, "my big brother."
Beckham attended the same high school as Eli Manning and said he saw Manning's jersey in the hallway "every single day."
Beckham said he had not had much contact with the Giants prior to the draft.
"It couldn't have worked out any better ... perfect situation," Beckham said.
"I'm looking forward to coming in and competing with these guys," Beckham said. "At the end of the day you always want to be No. 1 in everything you do."
