And that will be the only camera surrounding the Giants as they prepare for the upcoming 2014 season.
According to multiple reports, the Giants will not be the latest team to star on HBO's "Hard Knocks," a reality TV show documentary that follows a team throughout training camp.
NFL source tells me the Giants will NOT be in "Hard Knocks" this year. A handful of clubs volunteered instead, and league is still deciding.— Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) May 7, 2014
It had previously been reported that the Giants were one of three teams HBO had narrowed its potential list down to. Unlike previous years where it was required a team allow HBO inside its headquarters, this year marks the first time a team can be forced into the situation.
With the Giants reportedly ruled out, that leaves the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers as the remaining candidates if a team is "forced" to do it. If a team volunteers, no team can be forced.
Roger Goodell had said that a decision on what team will star on 'Hard Knocks' was around the corner. The NFL has yet to confirm or deny that the Giants are indeed no longer in the running.
