GIF Breakdown of Eric Ebron and the Other Top TEs

A fluid athlete, Eric Ebron looks to follow in the steps of Vernon Davis and Julius Thomas as a speedier hybrid tight end/wide receiver in the NFL. With his quick acceleration and elite top end speed, Ebron torched ACC defenses in 2013 for 62 catches and nearly 1,000 yards. With his production/skills and the ever increasing demand for a dynamic tight end that can stretch a team down the seam expect Ebron to be selected in the first 15 picks of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Vertical Threat: Uses his speed to attack defenses down the seam, releases well off the line of scrimmage, ability to gain inside leverage on slants and seam routes, can run away from defenders and can gain separation with pure speed.

Versatile: Lined in the slot, out wide, inline and played special teams at UNC, caught bubble screens, ran end arounds, was spilt out wide for jump balls and will be able to fill the Joker role in the NFL. ManningNearPick Weaknesses

Lack of Physicality: Struggled blocking bull rushes, allows smaller defenders to reroute him on vertical routes, doesn't dominate small defenders consistently, inconsistent in attack the ball at the highest point, needs to add bulk to play inline at the next level and is more of a finesse player.

Overall: A dynamic weapon that can beat a team from all over the field, Ebron is perfect for today's NFL. While he lacks ideal size for the tight end position -- he is only 6'4'' which is small compared to the 6'6" Jimmy Grahams of the NFL-- Ebron has the speed and fluidity to play as the tight end/wide receiver role that is ubiquitous now a days. He is very similar to Julius Thomas will be able to hurt teams vertically down the seam and on the outside. Because of this and his athletic upside Ebron will be the 1st tight end selected in this year's draft and should hear his name in the mid teens.

Prediction: Middle of the 1st Round
