Mel Kiper of ESPN is out with his list of the top 100 prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft (Insider Only). Let's go over some of the more interesting placements of players who might be drawing interest from the New York Giants.
Most interesting of all for me is the fact that the well-coiffed one has Notre Dame offensive lineman Zack Martin, increasingly considered a possibility for the Giants with the 12th overall pick, ranked as his No. 10 overall prospect. Considered versatile enough to play all five offensive line positions Martin has been rising up draft boards (CBS has him 16th, Mocking The Draft has him 22nd and Draft Countdown has him 13th) but 10th overall is the highest ranking I recall seeing anywhere for Martin.
Who does Kiper have at 12? He has Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks, an unlikely pick for the Giants, there.
Let's look at a few positions of need for the Giants and see how Kiper ranks the prospects.
