Flying to the Big Apple tonight! Looking forward to signing the dotted lines with @Giants— Rashad Jennings (@RashadJennings) March 11, 2014
Jennings, who turns 29 later this month, carried 163 times for 733 yards (4.5 yards per carry) for the Oakland Raiders in 2013. The 163 carries was a career high, as were the 36 passes Jennings caught. Jennings has averaged 4.3 yards per carry throughout his career. The 2013 season was the first time in Jennings' career he was a lead back for any extended stretch of time, and he excelled.
Rashad Jennings is like the quintessential Tom Coughlin back. No flash. Gets-what's-blocked runner. Pass protects. 1 career lost fumble.— Evan Silva (@evansilva) March 12, 2014
The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Jennings will take over as the Giants' primary back. The move likely means the Giants will part ways with Andre Brown, also a free agent.
