2014 NFL Mock Draft: Eric Ebron to Giants in SB Nation mock draft

SB Nation's Dan Kadar has selected North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron for the Giants in his latest mock draft.

The NFL Combine concludes Tuesday, and the results of the Combine thus far have likely shuffled draft boards across the NFL. This week's NFL mock draft from SB Nation's Dan Kadar, however, has Kadar going back to a familiar choice for the New York Giants at No. 12. For the Giants, Kadar chose North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron.

Ebron was one of the true superstars of the combine – both on the field and in the media room. He's a supreme athlete and he knows it. He would immediately become one of Eli Manning's favorite targets and a great red zone threat.

Ebron, 6-foot-4 3/8, 250 pounds, ran a 4.60 40-yard dash at the Combine, second-best 40 time among tight ends. [Full Combine workout results]

During media interviews at the Combine it was obvious Ebron believes in his ability.

"I’m very fast and very different. I play the tight end role like no one else," he said with a confident (or is it cocky) half-smile on his face. "I just do different things than other tight ends do. If you watch film, you’ll probably say the same thing.

"I think why teams don’t press me in because they can’t," Ebron said. "I will not be pressed at the line of scrimmage. They’d be best if they play a couple yards off."

Is Ebron the right pick in Kadar's mock scenario? Interestingly, Kadar passed on Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan at 12 -- he went No. 17 to the Baltimore Ravens. With the Giants needs along the offensive line NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock has recommended that the Giants "jump all over" Lewan if he is available at 12.
