Here is the New York Giants' official offensive depth chart entering Sunday's season-opening game against the Dallas Cowboys.
You will notice two things. First, the offensive line chart has not been changed to reflect Sunday's likely starting lineup of Will Beatty at left tackle, James Brewer at left guard, Kevin Boothe at center, Chris Snee at right guard and Justin Pugh at right tackle. Second, you will see Ryan Nassib listed as the No. 2 quarterback and Curtis Painter No. 3.
Try not to go nuts about either of those. In terms of the offensive line, you know who will start Sunday. When the injured players, David Diehl and David Baas are ready to return decisions will be made. Until then the depth chart is unlikely to change.
At quarterback, the only reason the Giants kept three quarterbacks is to have a veteran backup for Manning. Painter will be the second quarterback on Sunday.
