Eli Manning post-game-reaction: 'We're just not making many plays'

Eli Manning is sacked on Sunday - Peter Aiken

Eli Manning reacts to another poor offensive performance in the Giants' 31-7 loss on Sunday.

The New York Giants entered the 2013 season believing one problem they would never have would be scoring points. After all, with Eli Manning at quarterback, a bevy of speedy, big-play wide receivers in Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle, and a big-play threat in running back David Wilson, there are plenty of weapons.

The Giants, however, are 0-4 and awful offensive play is a huge part of the reason. After Sunday's 31-7 loss the Giants have now scored only seven points in two weeks and just 61 for the season (15.25 per game).

"We have play-makers, we're just not playing very well," said quarterback Eli Manning. "We get no drives going. We get no rhythm going offensively. We've gotta find a way to get things going a little bit, start making some plays."

The Giants went three-and-out the first five times they had the ball in the second half. The had a total of 11 first downs. They went 1-for-14 on third down.

Tom Coughlin shredded his offense following the game:

"There's no continuity whatsover. There's no rhythm. We don't make any first downs. Play calling is like throwing a dart at a board," Coughlin said, indicating we was not calling the play-calling bad rather than nothing works. "Our inability to do anything with the ball in the second half, there's no excuse for that. That's poor, that's very poor."

"Guys competed today. We're just not making many plays," Manning said. "I thought we had some chances on some plays, just didn't make ‘em."
