The New York Giants have signed former New York Jets fullback John Conner and placed Henry Hynoski on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Conner, 25, was a fifth-round pick by the Jets in 2010. He played there for two seasons and was released by the Jets last October after appearing in three games. He received an injury settlement from the Jets when they released him as he had been dealing with MCL and hamstring injuries. Connor also played two games for the Cincinnati Bengals last season and was released this year at the end of the preseason. He lost the fullback job in Cincinnati to Orson Charles.

Conner, 5-foot-11, 245 pounds, had a +6.8 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus while playing 378 snaps in 2011.His nickname is 'The Terminator.' Conner reportedly signed a two-year deal.

Hynoski, also 25, suffered a fractured shoulder after catching a pass Sunday vs. the Carolina Panthers. He missed the entire preseason after undergoing knee surgery.

The Giants are 30th in the league in yards per rushing play, averaging just 2.7 yards per attempt. They are last in the league in rushing yards with 133.
