It is a sad day to be a Giants fan. However, the 0-3 record is hardly the reason for my feelings. It is the irrational call for the firing of Tom Coughlin. Tom Coughlin has been coach of the New York Giants since 2004. In that time, Coughlin has delivered not one, but two Super Bowl Championships. I guess its, "what have your done for me lately?" Give me a break.
As mentioned earlier, Coughlin has been coach since 2004. He has gone through one rebuilding process. It worked out remarkably well. It is time for another rebuilding period, and Tom Coughlin deserves to be the coach, if he chooses to, while the process takes place. This team simply is bad at positions other than Quarterback and Wide Receiver. It is difficult to score when your offensive line prevents the best parts of your offense to do their job. Defensively, there is not much to be optimistic about. They do not pressure the opposing Quarterback at all anymore. Tuck, Kiwanuka, are old, and it is time to move on. JPP is what he is, was he a flash in the pan? Time will tell.
It disgusts me when people call for Coughlin's job. This man has given us two Super Bowls. Not only that, but against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. That's certified glorious and if that doesn't earn a man any respect, nothing will. Tom Coughlin is a champion and I want him as head coach of the New York Giants. Its time to rebuild, its time for new personnel. If anyone should be fired, its Jerry Reese. I have no idea what he is doing, his draft selections have left a lot to be desired and his free agent signings are crap, its as simple as that.
