David Wilson questions irritate Giants' coach Tom Coughlin

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Giants' head coach was peppered with questions about the fumble-prone running back during his Wednesday press conference.

Tom Coughlin wanted to move forward during his Wednesday press conference and talk about the New York Giants' upcoming game against the Denver Broncos. Instead, he was peppered with questions about running David Wilson and his fumbling issues.

"He fumbles the football. He fumbled the ball twice, Coughlin said. "He's gotta straighten that out. We're not going to have a guy on the field that's fumbling the ball.

"He want to play, he wants to improve, he wants to do it, he wants to be a part of this team, he wants to help his team win. That is something that he must overcome."

Asked again about Wilson after that, Coughlin grew testy as his voice rose in frustration.

"Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man," Coughlin began in answer to another Wilson query. "I can't say any more about David Wilson except if I'm watching him practice and his technique doesn't improve I'll let you know OK?

"I want to see the ball in the right spot all the time. Quite frankly there's nowhere else to go with this. I don't know what else to say to you. ... The ball security is No. 1 and that's what he is going to have to demonstrate."

Injury report

The Giants pre-practice injury report included Prince Amukamara (concussion), David Baas (knee), Dan Connor (neck), David Diehl (thumb), Damontre Moore (shoulder) and Adrien Robinson (foot).

Coughlin admitted "there's a concern" with only having four linebackers if Connor is unable to play. Coughlin said Amukamara won't practice although "he does feel pretty good." Amukamara still has to follow the league's concussion protocol.
