Good morning, New York Giants' fans! Here are your Wednesday morning links.
Victor Cruz has come a long way in his short NFL career. Soon his ascension to the role of one of the best deep-threat wide receivers in the league will be rewarded by the Giants.
A source told The Post that Cruz and the Giants, 'are on the 2-yard line,' in successfully completing their lengthy negotiation on a new, lucrative long-term contract.
"Both sides just need to give a little bit,'' said the source. "But it's going to happen.''
"I think it’s smart," Manning said at the BTIG 11th annual Commissions for Charity Day on Tuesday in Manhattan. "It’s a good idea for him. There’s nothing he can say right now that could make anything better or worse. I think it’s best to kind of lay low. And obviously he’s still got some responsibilities."
The New York Jets have picked up a cast off from their cross-town rivals.
The Jets claimed wide receiver Marcus Davis off waivers from the New York Giants on Tuesday. Davis signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent but was released by the team on Saturday. Davis racked up 105 catches for 1,827 yards and 13 touchdowns during his collegiate career at Virginia Tech including 51 catches for 953 yards and five touchdowns last season.
