The Giants have not ruled out the re-signing of Brandon Jacobs, their one-time bruising running back, according to someone with knowledge of the situation.
This does not mean Jacobs — who spent a wasted 2012 season with the 49ers — is on his way back to the team that drafted him in 2005.
There have not been any formal discussions between the Giants and Jacobs and at this point he remains a not-very-hot commodity on the open market as the leftover players in free agency try to find teams to employ them.

Could a Brandon Jacobs-Giants reunion be in the works?
Valentine's View: Pretty funny, isn't it? It seemed like the guy was constantly unhappy his last couple of seasons with the Giants. Now, one unsuccessful and unappreciated year away, and he is begging to come back. Of course, the fact that there doesn't seem to be another team in the league that wants anything to do with him might have something to do with that. How about you, Giants' fans? Would you like to see Jacobs back with the team in 2013? Vote in the poll at the end of this post.
