Charles Woodson - Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE
Former Green Bay Packers safety Charles Woodson could be a free-agent target for the New York Giants, according to published reports.
The New York Giants are one of four NFL teams who have inquired about Charles Woodson, the 36-year-old eight-time Pro Bowl safety who was recently cut by the Green Bay Packers. The other three teams, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson, are the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.
NFL.com reported that Woodson is "still interested in playing for a contender."
Does Woodson to the Giants really make sense, or have a realistic chance of happening?
Woodson played only seven games last season for Green Bay due to a broken collarbone. Once a dyanimc cornerback, Woodson is now more of a situational safety. Woodson has 55 career interceptions in 15 seasons.
The Giants could lose veteran safety Kenny Phillips to free agency. They currently have Antrel Rolle and restricted free agent Stevie Brown as starters, with Will Hill and Tyler Sash in reserve. There is also the possibility of Terrell Thomas moving to safety.
Your thoughts on Woodson, Giants' fans?
