According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, Canty signed a 3-year contract worth $8 million. $2.8 million is guaranteed. That is virtually identical to the three-year, $8 million contract ($3 million guaranteed) defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins -- the replacement for Canty -- signed with the Giants on Monday.
Canty was released by the Giants earlier in the offseason. He was owed $6.25 million and battled injuries that led to the Giants making this move.
Former Giants defensive end Dave Tollefson was released Tuesday by the Oakland Raiders.
