Sapp says he clearly should have made Hall over Giants great, 'media darling' Strahan
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman took a shot at the Giants great Wednesday morning on WDAE-AM 620 in Florida (via JoeBucsFan.com), saying that there was no question who had a better chance of making it to the Hall.
"Say if I rewind this to Saturday at 12 o’ clock, me and you are sitting and I say, it breaks down whatever and whatever and then you have Michael Strahan and me. C’mon, the menace and the media darling," Sapp said. "C’mon. Madness or Good Morning America. I mean, c’mon."
Valentine's View: This is a bunch of nonsense from the yappy Sapp. I'm not going to belittle the guy and say he doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame. What I am going to say is that Strahan was every bit the player Sapp was, if not a better one. If Sapp is a Hall of Famer, so is Strahan. I really have no idea how Hall voters can justify selecting Sapp and not selecting Strahan. Also, it really is not becoming for a Hall of Famer to trash another player like that. Then again, Sapp never has been known as a class act.
NY Giants GM Jerry Reese has the track record to back up cutting Michael Boley, Chris Canty, and Ahmad Bradshaw - NY Daily News
You can say this for GM Jerry Reese: He has earned the trust of Giants fans, much like Young had, because he has helped build two Super Bowl champions. Reese is able to distance himself from the emotional aspect of the NFL by saying goodbye to Bradshaw, whom he drafted in 2007, and Boley and Canty, whom he signed as big money free agents in 2009.
