The New York Giants made a couple of Christmas Day roster moves on Wednesday. The moves involved two of their 2013 draft choices, placing safety Cooper Taylor on injured reserve and signing guard Eric Herman off the practice squad.
Taylor, a fifth-round selection, played in 10 games as a rookie. He suffered a hamstring injury in San Diego on Dec.8 and was inactive the last two weeks vs. Seattle and Detroit. Taylor had earlier missed three games with a shoulder injury.
Taylor saw most of his action on special teams.
Herman was a seventh-round draft choice from Ohio University. He was waived on Aug. 31 and signed the following day to the practice squad, where he spent the entire season until his promotion today.
The Giants also signed defensive back Travis Howard from Ohio State to their practice squad.
