There aren't many draftable NFL prospects in the Potato Bowl matchup between Buffalo and San Diego State, with one BIG exception.
This will be a fun game for Giants' fans to watch. The one shining star is one that should have the Beezer Brigade in a frenzy is Buffalo outside linebacker Khalil Mack. Mack is an animal. He finished the year coming in second place for the Dick Butkus Award given to the most outstanding linebacker in college football.
His stats? An absurd 94 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 3 INTs, 6 PDs, and 2 TDs. This wasn't against poor competition either -- he single-handedly kept his team in it against Ohio State. Every eye should be focused on him when the game is played. He is equally comfortable rushing the passer as he is dropping into coverage. His fluidity of movement and his explosiveness are two reasons why he is a likely top 12-13 pick.
As far as the other prospects go, Buffalo also has defensive end Colby Way, who could be an intriguing undrafted free agent pickup. San Diego State, which gave the NFL Leon McFadden last year, is short on prospects this year. The guy I like best from them is offensive tackle Bryce Quigley, who could be worth a shot in the sixth or seventh rounds.
