Apologies to those of you rooting for the New York Giants to lose games and, thus, get a higher selection in the 2014 NFL Draft. With five victories in six games, the Giants have not only maintained a barely perceptible pulse in the NFC playoff picture, but they are also moving farther and farther away from getting a top-tier selection in the upcoming draft.
The Giants currently have the 14th overall selection, according to calculations by SB Nation. At one time the Giants were 0-6 and had the first overall selection. Now, of course, they are 5-7 and still dreaming of securing an unlikely playoff berth.
SB Nation NFL Draft has a look at the top 100 2014 NFL Draft prospects. Currently, SB Nation's Dan Kadar lists Alabama safety Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix as the 14th-ranked draft prospect.
Per SB Nation, here is the current top five draft order for 2014:
1. Houston Texans - 2-10 (.550)
2. Jacksonville Jaguars - 3-9 (.503)
3. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 3-9 (.521)
4. Atlanta Falcons - 3-9 (.559)
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 3-9 (.582)
