After starting the season 0-6, the Giants looked like they might be able to get back into the playoff race after winning four in a row in a weak division. But they went on to lose two of their next three games to fall to 5-8 and be eliminated from playoff contention. The Seahawks have looked like the best team in football all year and hold the best record in the league along with the Denver Broncos. Seattle needs to win two of its last three games to win home-field advantage throughout the playoffs in the NFC.
The Giants are coming off a 37-14 road loss to the San Diego Chargers that officially eliminated them from playoff contention. The Seahawks are coming off a 19-17 road loss to division rival San Francisco, but the team still holds a two-game lead over the NFC West.
The Big Blue View Power Rankings reflect a big gap between the two teams in the rankings, with the Giants ranked at No. 23 and the Seahawks ranked near the top at No. 2. SB nation's version of the rankings has Seattle ranked in the same spot, with the Giants a little closer to them at No. 19.
