Giants-Raiders Odds: Giants open as 7.5-point favorites

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

The Giants are favored by more than a touchdown in the early betting odds for Sunday's game against Oakland.

The New York Giants (2-6) open the week as heavy, 7.5-point favorites in a home match-up against the Oakland Raiders (3-5) at MetLife Stadium.

After a disappointing 0-6 start, the Giants have rattled off two straight wins. The team now finds itself in the hunt for the NFC East division title, as the Giants sit only 2.5 games behind the 5-4 Dallas Cowboys, who are known for late-season collapses. The Raiders, led by quarterback Terrelle Pryor, have been inconsistent all year long and head into this match-up with starting running back Darren McFadden injured again.

The Giants, after beating the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, went to Philadelphia and beat the division rival Eagles to head into its bye week at 2-6. The Raiders continued an inconsistent year last Sunday as it followed up an impressive home victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a home loss against the Eagles in which the opposing quarterback threw a record-tying seven touchdowns.

The Big Blue View Rankings have the Giants ranked slightly ahead of the Raiders, although both are ranked near the bottom of the rankings at no. 22 and no. 26 respectively. SB Nation's version of the rankings also has both teams ranked near the bottom, although the teams are closer to each other with the Giants at no. 24 and the Raiders at no. 25.
