Most Improved Giant? Prince Amukamara

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Who is the Giants' most improved player?

The midway point of the 2013 NFL season is upon us. Big Blue View has teamed up with Capital One Bank to present the most improved player over the first half of the season.

Who is the New York Giants most improved player thus far in the 2013 season?

Throughout the Giants 0-6 start, and ultimately their 2-6 first half of the season season, much of the focus -- justifiably -- has been on which players have not lived up to expectations.

Even in a down stretch, however, there are players who have stepped up. Linebacker Spencer Paysinger would have to be a candidate here, having graduated from special teams player to a full-time member of the defense. Defensive end Justin Tuck, who is defending the run as well as he ever has after a couple of down seasons, deserves consideration.

My choice, however, would be cornerback Prince Amukamara. The 2011 first-round pick is finally beginning to live up to his status as the 19th overall pick in that 2011 NFL draft. He has just one interception, but has played solidly and finally looks like the player the Giants were hoping for. He may not be an elite shutdown corner, but he certainly is a quality player.

Your thoughts, Giants' fans?
