The New York Giants' early injury report released on Wednesday featured a handful of familiar names, as well as a new addition. Tight end Bear Pascoe, who is dealing with an ankle injury, was the newest name.
There was no word on Pascoe's injury after the win against the Oakland Raiders, so the severity remains a question. The severity will likely dictate how much or if Pascoe practices Wednesday, and it won't be considered serious unless Pascoe sits out of practice all week.
Also listed on the injury report is Brandon Jacobs (hamstring/knee), Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder), Terrell Thomas (knee) and Corey Webster (groin/ankle).
Jacobs has not played since Oct. 10 against the Chicago Bears. The veteran back has missed four straight games, and with Andre Brown back in the mix, the Giants likely won't rush the 31-year-old back unless it is absolutely necessary.
Pierre-Paul left Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders with the shoulder issue, but did return and tally a pair of solo tackles. Because JPP was able to return, he's likely listed on the injury report as a precautionary measure, though it's never good to see his name on the report when we know he isn't 100 percent following offseason back surgery yet.
Thomas practiced on a limited basis last week, but was able to suit up against Oakland. In fact, Thomas made the most critical defensive play Sunday, picking off Terrelle Pryor on the Raiders' 5-yard line in the third quarter, allowing the Giants to rally back from a six-point deficit.
Webster missed last week's game with a groin injury. He has not played since Oct. 27 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
