It's been a rough season so far for us Giants fans and there seems a small glimmer of light may be lurking around the corner. With some help from the football Gods and other teams poor play we just might forget this season started off 0-6. Well......probably not but it would be nice to remember it as a magical season that starter off 0-6.
With this glimmering spec of light now I find myself think who are the Giants players that have helped turn this ship around and will stay the course and see it through?
Antrel Rolle comes to mind. Thus far Rolle has 53 combined tackles, 3 INTs, 2 sacks 1 FF, and , 6 passes defended. We all know although the stats are solid this really doesn't tell you what Antrel has meant to the Giants this year. He has stayed away from his sometimes Boned-Headed comments and has been nothing but an out spoken leading and inspiration to his team mates. When the Giants were win-less it seemed Rolle's message just got strong and strong with every debilitating lose. I will Not quit! I Still Believe! I will carry this team on my back if I have to!! When the Giants have needed Antrel has come up with the big plays.
Second and tied in my mind for MVP so far with Antrel is Terrell Thomas aka T2. Thomas has 32 combined tackles, 1 INT, 1 sack, 1 FF, and 5 passes defended. Again the #'s here don't begin to tell the story. Definitely not the #'s we saw from T2 back in 2010 his last full season before spending 2 years on the IR. That brings us to exactly why Terrell is on my list. Possibilities and Odds would tell you Terrell should not be doing what he is doing. After 3 ACL surgeries 2 in the last 3 years no one should be able to compete in one of the world most brutalizing and physical sports. Not only is T2 competing he is making a sufficient impact week after week. What he has accomplished to date this year is nothing short of miraculous. Like Rolle Thomas is not an out spoken leader, but trust that he is a leader and an inspiration to his teammates and all the other players in the NFL.
Yes this 2 both had great games this past Sunday, but both have had solid to great games all season.
Ok well that's what I have and I have it at a dead even tie. Make your arguments throw someone else in the mix if needed.
Some may feel it's to early talk about this kind of stuff, but I'm tired of reading about why the Giants suck and need to stay on a good vibe. Thanks VG
