Eli Manning - Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Ron Jaworski of ESPN, the ultimate analyst when it comes to quarterback play in the NFL, is out with his 2012 quarterback rankings. Jaworski has Eli Manning of the New York Giants ranked seventh, showing some respect for Manning's two Super Bowl titles and his overall body of work, not just basing his judgment on a sub-par 2012 season.

Here is what Jaworski wrote about Manning:

Eli was very inconsistent down the stretch, but his body of work says he's definitely a top-10 guy. We could see the highs clearly enough with his great game against the Eagles in Week 17. Unfortunately, there were too many lows mixed in this season as well (see: Weeks 15 and 16). Eli has some reparation work to do in the offseason.

I doubt anyone is going to disagree that Manning needs to be better in 2013. Manning certainly knows it:

"I don't think it [his season] was as good as it needed to be. I think there was a couple games where it just wasn't as on and I needed to play better," Manning said this week.

For those who do not have ESPN Insider, here is Jaworski's complete top 10:

1. Peyton Manning
2. Aaron rodgers
3. Tom Brady
4. Matt Ryan
5. Drew Brees
6. Ben Roethlisberger
7. Eli Manning
8. Joe Flacco
9. Matt Schaub
10. Robert Griffin III
