Senior Bowl 2013: Stock up, stock down for NFL Draft prospects

Ryan Nassib passes Thursday during practice for the Senior Bowl - John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

A look at which players helped themselves, and which players might have hurt themselves, when it comes to their 2013 NFL Draft stock during this week's Senior Bowl practices.

Friday is a quiet day at the 2013 Senior Bowl. Here is a look at which players impressed, and which did not, during the week of practices leading up to Saturday's game. We will, of course, pay special attention to prospects who have been connected to the New York Giants in one way or another.

Here is a stock up, stock down report from B.J. Kissel of Arrowhead Pride, who has been in Moblle, Ala., all week.

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network has posted his thoughts on risers and fallers from the week's practices. Of interest to Giants' fans, Jeremiah liked the work of Oklahoma offensive tackle Lane Johnson during the week, but was concerned by what he saw from BYU defensive end Ezekial Ansah. Here is what he wrote about Ansah:

Ansah is one of the most physically gifted players in this draft class, but he showed this week that he still has a lot of developing to do. During pass-rush periods, he repeatedly tried to work through the numbers of the offensive tackle, but his bull rush was rarely effective. He flashed one inside-spin move, but otherwise was predictable and unsuccessful in his pass-rushing attempts. Some teams are concerned with what transpired this week, while others are still bullish on the incredible upside of the BYU defender.

CBS Sports looks at the transition of Denard Robinson from Michigan quarterback to prospective NFL wide receiver, and wonders if the Giants would use a mid- to late-round pick on a receiver. ESPN noted that several receivers stood out on Thursday.

Russ Lande of the National Football Post offers his thoughts on which players helped themselves the most and which players struggled during the practices. Matt Bowen of NFP also weighed in with his thoughts from the week of practices. Terry McCormick of NFP had a chance to speak with Ansah during the week.
