2013 NFL Mock Draft: NFP gives Sheldon Richardson to New York Giants

Sheldon Richardson - Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

Russ Lande of the National Football Post offers a mock draft that has some different twists and turns.

By now I know you are getting tired of NFL mock drafts. The real draft is a week away and you are antsy. I am going to offer you a mock draft to peruse, anyway, but we'll go in a different direction. Russ Lande of the National Football Post is hardly a conventional draft analyst, and version 12.0 of his 2013 Mock Draft shows that.

Lande ends up selecting Missouri defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson for the New York Giants with the 19th overall selection. Lande writes:

The Giants pass rush was not consistent in 2012 and they need fresh bodies to help. Richardson is one of the most explosive off the ball defenders in this year’s draft and would upgrade the Giants’ pass rush immediately.

The Richardson selection isn't an off-the-wall one for the Giants, but there are a few eyebrow-raisers in here.

- Ezekiel Ansah of BYU to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 2.

- Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee to Cleveland at No. 6.

- Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib to the Buffalo Bills at No. 8.

- Corey Lemonier, LB, Auburn to the San Francisco 49ers at No. 31.
