The New York Giants have begun trimming their roster to the regular-season limit of 53 players. According to a report by Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger, defensive tackle Marcus Thomas and defensive end Matt Broha have been released.
Although it is not official, Garafolo wrote that "Word is Adewale Ojomo has made the active roster."
Cornerback/kick returner Laron Scott also tweeted this morning that "LOOKS LIKE YA BOY IS STAYING IN THE BIG APPLE." And yes, he used all caps. Garafolo, by th way, says he believes Scott is going to be part of the practice squad, not the 53.
If Scott made the roster that would mean that there is a surprise among the cuts at defensive back. We will have to see who that might be as the day unfolds.
More to come throughout the day, of course. Stay tuned. The intrigue is just getting started. Use this as your roster cuts thread.
