I've actually never been to any TC before, but I went to Lehigh Sunday for a couple hours, here’s what I saw:
-Trent Cole is an absolute monster. He’s shorter than the other DLs on that team, but he's thick and just big, but moves at double speed compared to the OL. Even compared to the DL comparisons on the team he's just better and its obvious. I’ve never quite been able to see during a game what made him so good, it was obvious in 5 minutes at practice. He also practiced as hard as anyone there yesterday.
-Nnamdi is tall. Maybe 2-4 inches taller than the rest of the CBs on his team… and since they mostly have short WRs he was bigger than most of them as well. He also showed very little interest in being at camp. Went through individuals very casually, got beat in 11-on-11s quite a bit, but mostly because he seemed to be going half-speed when the other guys were at 90% or so. DRC seemed to care a little more, was mostly unnoticeable, which isnt a bad thing for a corner.
-DL is GREAT at rushing the passer, they blew up about half the pass plays, but the running offense abused them. I’m not sure I saw one unsuccessful run. The somewhat lack of hitting might lead to this effect… not sure, but thats what it looked like to me.
-I didn’t notice a single linebacker the entire day, not bad, not good…just there. I also did not notice a TE (is celek hurt? is there anyone after him?)… it was tough to even find one on the field… but if you did he certainly was not the focus of any play
-They LOVE dumping down to the RB, spend maybe a quarter of practice time on this timing play… getting the RBs to engage in a block, get off it turn around and catch the pass… they did this in all phases/types of drills
-Eagles fans LOVE Djax more than anything. Its amazing. The guy catches a ball right on the numbers on an in route with no one guarding him and the crowd goes nuts… he even spins the ball and does a little dance sometimes. Overall his practice was fine, some catches, a drop… again i think he was going less than full speed… but we all know what he is, doesnt need to kill it. I wouldn’t take this as his attitude or anything, just preserving/not getting hurt. And for the most part they were working on the younger guys trying to find the depth after Avant.
-Foles is huge, has a cannon and could be a very very good player in a year or two. I’m judging from one practice… so take that as whatever… but all the physical tools are there. Surely he has a lot to learn to be an NFL QB, but I saw him throw 20-30 passes between team and individuals, and I didn’t see a miss.
-Kafka missed about 5-6 throws… at least.
Trent was doing 3rd/4th string duties with the RBs… never really got a chance to show much.
-Vick looked like Vick. Mostly good, laser arm… but missed a couple over the middle. He threw almost exactly like I expected. He also ran a designed run UP THE MIDDLE! The crowd audibly groaned.
-King Dunlap started at LT for the most part. He is obviously larger than anyone else on the field… he also cant get very low in his stance… might cause issues, but aside from 1 or 2 plays he held his own. Tough to judge the OL from that distance.
Thats all I can think of right now… if you have any questions it might spark some memories.
