Inside Football Profiles Martellus Bennett

Stay connected for news and updates

Martellus Bennett, the talkative tight end the New York signed as a free agent in the offseason, is so happy to be in New York and away from the Dallas Cowboys he says he "almost cried" after scoring a touchdown Friday in the team's preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Inside Football's Pat Traina has penned a terrific piece on Bennett. If you want to get to know more about him, add Traina's post to your list of Sunday reading material.

Here is just one quote from Bennett:

"When I was with Dallas, it used to be a little discouraging because I’d be like, ‘Damn, I worked on my routes all summer, and then I get to the game, and I didn’t get to run that many routes.’ Here, I felt like everything I worked on during the off-season would be put to use in the offense. So I kicked it up a couple of notches because I have a lot riding on this season and on myself."
