Today we move to the defensive side of the ball as we continue or position-by-position voting to determine the Big Blue View Preseason All-NFC East Team.

Here are your nominees.

Chris Canty, Giants -- Canty is a player who's value is not truly reflected in his numbers. He is a space-eater who takes on double teams and allows others to make plays. Canty had four sacks, 63 tackles and +5.6 rating from Pro Football Focus last season.

Linval Joseph, Giants -- Proved to be a solid player in his first season of regular action a year ago. Joseph had two sacks, 63 tackles and a PFF rating of +1.1. His best football is likely still ahead of him.

Jay Ratliff, Cowboys -- The Dallas nose tackle has made the Pro Bowl four consecutive years. Last season he had two sacks, 39 tackles and a PFF rating of +18.6.

Barry Cofield, Redskins -- The former Giant transitioned from defensive tackle to pure nose tackle in his first season with Washington, and did an acceptable job. He had three sacks, 26 tackles and a PFF score of -5.7.

Fletcher Cox, Eagles -- Philadelphia drafted Cox, from Mississippi Stat,e, 12th overall in the first round in an effort to shore up the middle of their defense. The SB Nation scouting report calls the 6-foot-4, 285-pound Cox a "top-end athlete with excellent speed."

Cullen Jenkins, Eagles -- Had 5.5 sacks and 48 tackles in 2011, his first year with Philadelphia after seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Jenkins received a +15.3 grade from PFF.
