Terrell Thomas Insists Rehab Is Ahead Of Schedule

Stay connected for news and updates

New York Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas today insisted that he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from the ACL surgery that cost him last season.

"I've said all along I'm ahead of schedule and doing good. My biggest thing is just protecting, keep building strength and to be ready for training camp. and the opening game against Dallas," said Thomas during an appearance at teammate Chris Canty's charity golf tournament.

This is Thomas' second ACL surgery on that knee. I don't know about you guys, but I always take these things with a grain of salt. Every athlete who has ever been injured is always -- somehow -- ahead of schedule in his rehab.

If Thomas is right, and he is healthy this season, that will be a big boost to the Giants defense. We won't know anything, however, until Thomas and the rest of the team hit the field for training camp.
