Here are a few quick notes from Friday morning's first practice of New York Giants rookie mini-camp at the Timex Performance Center.

  • Coach Tom Coughlin said after practice that all rookies are either signed, or in the process of signing. Thank you, new collective bargaining agreement.
  • Coughlin was impressed by the work of second-round draft pick Rueben Randle, the wide receiver from LSU, during the morning session.
  • The only other drafted player Coughlin mentioned after the workout was sixth-round pick Matt McCants. Coughlin said the offensive tackle from UAB seems much bigger than the 6-foot-5, 309 pounds he is listed at.
  • Adrien Robinson showed good, hands this morning when he hauled in an off-target throw on a short pass that was well over his head. The tight end from Cincinnati, a fourth-round pick, is one of the players I am most curious about.

Much more for you later. There will be a second practice this afternoon and I will try to update with some notes from that.
