I need to get you guys up to date on a little bit of mock draft business that has nothing to do with our Big Blue View 2012 Community Mock Draft.

As you may know, each week our friends at the mothership, SBNation.com, come out with an updated mock draft of their own. This week a name I have not seen connected with the Giants ended up sliding to the Giants -- Stanford offensive tackle Jonathan Martin. SB Nation's Mocking The Draft ranks Martin as its 10th-best 2012 NFL Draft prospect. Draft Countdown has Martin at No. 27. CBS Sports has Martin at No. 18.

I will do a full profile on Martin at some point, but this looks like it would be a coup for the Giants if the 6-foot-6, 305-pound Martin fell this far.

Also, the annual SB Nation NFL Writers' Mock Draft is underway. That is also being hosted at Mocking The Draft and, as I write, is through just two picks. I will be making the pick for the Giants when the time comes.
