Heh. Just thought I'd stir the pot a little bit with this one.
I raised this possibility on another thread and it got the kind of quick emotional reaction (mostly negative!) that seemed like it might be prime material for its own FanPost.
I don't know what the cap hit would be, so it may be a moot point, but if you were in the Giants' front office, would you even consider cutting Bradshaw?
I know we just signed him to a 4-year deal last offseason, but the recurrence of the foot injuries and the decline in production would make me at least consider it.
We have so many needs and so little money to work with...and RB is a position we don't value all that highly from either a dollar-or-draft standpoint...so it might make sense. The extra money might allow us to shore up the OL, pick up a key defensive player, or even sign a veteran RB who might match 44's production for a lot less. It would also open us up for drafting a Doug Martin, etc., in April.
Net-net, we could be better off "at the end of the day."
I know we all love AB and the grit he brings to the team...but is the grit worth the millions?
