could teach Tom Brady (or any QB for that matter) and it is so simple that I didn’t understand what he meant when he said it all these years ad naseum: (I’m paraphrasing here) Eli-“you know we just go out and try to do the best we can to make plays. We’re just trying to win the game.” I used to think-blah, blah, blah when I heard that stuff but I came to realize this year that he means exactly what he says. It ain’t rhetoric. He has faith in the calls from Gilbride, he tries to execute the plays to the best of his ability and all the other stuff like “win one for the coach, for posterity, for the hall of fame, for the owners wife who just passed away, etc, etc” just doesn’t apply.
Eli is a “line your ducks up and try to knock as many of them over as you can” kind of a guy. Everybody is starting to understand that. Brady puts too much extra on his plate and it’s just too much for the dude.

I had an emotional breakdown
I missed the third quarter because I was too worked up and something was going to get broken in my house. But I saw the drive, Ham pulling down the biggest pass of his life, Bradshaw with the greatest “oh shit” moment in SB history, and the D stepping up and making big plays to shut down Brady at the end.
I flopped on the floor after the Hail Mary fell to the ground. I stayed there for about 10 minutes, looking up at the TV with my arms outstretched. Super Bowl Champs! Unbelievable.
That’s why I love the Reese quote in my sig.

In fact, Eli had about a dozen INT’s off it last season.
Blame is 50-50. Brady threw the ball like he was throwing to somebody a foot taller than Welker (ie: Gronk), but Welker also got his hands on it and should have reeled it in.
Now, considering how many times we’ve seen this, I wonder why Abby never said anything like this?
